Prompt: In a paragraph or two tell HOW Annie Dillard feels about her mother based on what she tells of her in the essay "Terwilliger Bunts One."

Annie Dillard's feeling towards her mother isn't as clear to me as it seems to be to other people (apparently). She describes her mother as a free-spriited, un-orthodoxed prankster. The way you can tell that she holds a certain fondness towards her mother is that she says nothing negative about her in a forum where she has every right and ability to trash her mother's image. By this essay, her mother seems like the ultimate "cool mom" which you usually fail to appreciate when younger. Her mother is one of those characters that you either hate with a passion or love and yearn to be like. dl10042002
