Objective: Students will learn to compose an argumentative essay.
Activity
: The class will build an initial paragraph of the Fast Food essay.
Information - Context, authors, thesis, supports and transition.
Homework: Finish writing your first paragraph.


Tuesday -
Objective:
Students will learn to compose an argumentative essay.
Activity
: Groups will "read-around" the first paragraphs. Groups share the best paragraph for general instruction.
Information - The structure of the body paragraphs of argumentative essays.
Homework: Revision of your writing as needed.

 

Wednesday -
Objective: Students will learn to compose an argumentative essay.
Activity
: The class will build an argumentative body paragraph of the Fast Food essay.
Information - The hook, topic sentence, statement-illustration-commentary X 2, transition.
Homework: Revision of your writing as needed. PRIMP AT HOME FOR PICTURE DAY.

Activity
: As time allows: Groups will "read-around" the body paragraphs composed at home and in class sharing the best paragraph for general instruction.
Information -
Homework: Work on your body paragraph.

Friday -
Objective: Students will learn to compose an argumentative essay.
Activity
:Groups will "read-around" the body paragraphs composed at home and in class sharing the best paragraph for general instruction. Individuals will carry on to their 2nd and 3rd parts of their argument composing two more body paragraphs.
Information -
Homework: Write your 2nd body paragraph at home. Bring it in for sharing tomorrow.
