Summer Report Deadlines

 

June 1st - Email Mr. Jollymore (tim-jollymore@batnet.com, address above at "Oracle at Delphi") with the name you were given at birth (legal name), , your date of birth, summer phone number and, of course, your email address. Make the subject heading "Class of 2006" and ask for the Scribner password.

June 4th - Receive a confirming email from Mr. J. If you do not receive a confirmation, have a friend email Mr. J. with your phone number. He will, then, call you. Sometimes AOL mail clients do not interface well with Mr. J's service. Check for that confirmation.

June 8th - Email Mr. Jollymore your choices for summer reading, novels only (you may choose poests and artists later). Use the Berkeley Library bibliographic format. If there is a problem with your choice, Mr. J. will notify you within one day. Choices MAY NOT, repeat MAY NOT include the following OR any short story collections:

Melville, Herman. Moby Dick
Twain, Mark. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Hurston, Zora Neale. Their Eyes Were Watching God
Fitzgerald, F. Scott. The Great Gatsby
Faulkner, William. The Bear
Miller, Arthur. The Crucible
Wilson, August. Fences
McCullers, Carson. The Ballad of the Sad Cafe.

These we will read in class.

July 10th - Send via email your first summer novel and poetry (no art response the first time) forms as attachments in a SINGLE email. Be as complete as possible. Use the following in your email subject heading: Summer Response 1

August 10th - Send via email your second summer novel, poetry and art response forms as attachments in a SINGLE email. Be as complete as possible. Use the following in your email subject heading: Summer Response 2

August 11th-31st - Write your comparison paper.

September 10th - Bring your papers to class this day.
