Monday -
Objective: Students will learn how authors defend their work and explain their ideas verbally.
Activity
: Students will attend a lecture by Tyler Edward Stovall on his book Paris Noir: African Americans in the City of Light.
Information - AP Literature Prompts that cite Dramas.
Homework: Studnets Read Antigone - p. 1343-1378. Do questions 2-8, p. 1378. Submit answers Monday.


Tuesday -
Objective:Students will learn how to use a play to answer the "free writing" prompt in AP Lit.
Activity
:A final reading of Oedipus the King. Review the question. Begin examiation of ANTIGONE.
Information -
Homework: Finish reading ANTIGONE. Prepare for discussion. Read prompt indicated in class and prepare to write an essay in class on the topic using one of the plays we have read.

Wednesday -
Objective: Students review how to write a drama prompt.
Activity
: Students write an AP Prompt in 40 minutes with concentration on using reference to Antigone or Oedipus to emphasize their points.
Information -
Homework: Review rubric for the prompt. Write a review of the paper you wrote today in class - what virtues does it have; what shortcomings does it exhibit; what two things would you do differently the next time. Write for `10 minutes on these topics; use examples from your paper. Give yourself a score. Examine your copy of MacBeth - read some of the play and formulate some questions on the language of the play.


Thursday -
Objective:Students learn how to score a rhetorical prompt using a rubric.
Activity
: Each student scores four papers. Share top papers with the class. Discuss qualities of a good paper. Discuss the language of Shakespear's plays.
Information -
Homework: Read MacBeth per assignment in class for discussion tomorrow.

Friday -
Objective: Students will learn how to "parse" Shakespearian language and tragedy.
Activity
: Students will discuss the differences between Greek classical tragedy and what Shakespeare is doing in MacBeth.
Information -How is the story told. How do characters reveal themselves? How do others characterize them? What themes are developed in MacBeth?
Homework: Finish MacBeth over the weekend.
