Objective: Students continue the study of theme in relation to written short works.
Activity
: Discussion of theme. Love in LA.
Information -
Homework: Read Miss Brill in Bedford, p. 294-297 and The Bride Comes to Yellow Sky, p. 285 - 292. Answer and submit all the questions at the end of the stories. Prepare for discussion of theme in relation to the story.

Wednesday -
Objective:Students increase knowledge of theme.
Activity
: VOCABULARY TEST - 30 - 40 TERMS. Discussion of theme. Miss Brill and The Bride Comes to Yellow Sky.
Information -
Homework: Print out your summer assignment on Sula. Review the book for discussion and the quiz tomorrow.


Thursday -
Objective: Students demonstrate knowledge of style and Sula.
Activity
: Sula quiz. Discussion of the themes in the book.
Information -
Homework: Review Sula again. Prepare to write on the book tomorrow. Knowledge of the book will be needed to write.

Objective:Students demonstrate appropriate style and analytical technique in writing about literature.
