Moderated Debate format:
In the moderated debate format the moderator takes the place of Affirmative and Negative speakers A delivering a 2 minute prepared opening speech covering both sides of the issue. The moderator works with both sides to assure the accuracy and fairness of the presentation.
In addition, the moderator serves as inquisitor during the rebuttals asking each side two or more telling questions about his/her rebuttal presentation to further illucidate the issue.
Affirmative and Negative speakers deliver a constructive speech and a rebuttal.
